Shivani Mehta publishes her first book.
Congratulations to Shivani Mehta. Her book "Useful Information for the Soon-to-be-Beheaded" will be in just a few weeks, in time for AWP. Read the about it here.
I read Shivani Mehta's book last year, right after it was published and first released. I saw it on a table at a poetry conference, read the first poem, and took it! And I am very chary about buying poetry! The book is an unfolding of her outrageous and wonderful inner life, in a sequence of poems that tells a story. I recommend it to anyone, for a delicious, funny and often moving read.
